手作業による削り出し
当工房の箸は全て手作業によって制作しています。
天然素材の竹は、厚みや繊維の曲がり、煤竹特有の紋様などそれぞれに癖があります。
これらの癖を見極め、どのような箸にするか、一膳一膳を手作業で削り出します。
竹割りから始まり、小刀、鉋（カンナ）、やすりを用いて形状を整えて行きます。
All chopsticks in our workshop are handcrafted.
Natural bamboo has its own unique characteristics, such as thickness, fiber curvature, and the distinctive patterns of smoked bamboo.
We carefully consider these characteristics and hand-carve each pair of chopsticks to create the perfect shape.
The process begins with splitting the bamboo, followed by shaping it using a knife, plane, and file.
防水加工 Waterproofing
竹素材は水分が付くと繊維に水分が残りやすく、すぐに水分を拭き取らないと先端や天部分に黒カビが発生します。
そこで当工房の箸はウレタン樹脂による防水加工を施しております。
人体に無害なウレタン系溶剤にどぶ漬けし、竹の繊維に水分が入らないよう、樹脂を浸透させます。
数回、表面の余分な溶剤の拭き取りを行って竹の質感を損なわないよう仕上げます。
食品安全基準クリア済です。
※特注箸に限り、防水加工なしを選択可能です。
Bamboo material easily retains moisture in its fibers, and if the moisture is not wiped off immediately, black mold will grow on the tips and tops.
Therefore, our chopsticks are waterproofed with urethane resin.
The chopsticks are dipped in a urethane-based solvent that is harmless to humans, allowing the resin to penetrate the bamboo fibers and prevent moisture from entering.
The excess solvent is wiped off several times to finish the chopsticks without compromising the texture of the bamboo.
Meets food safety standards.
*For custom-made chopsticks only, it is possible to choose not to have the waterproofing treatment applied.

大量生産の箸は機械を使って規格に合わせたものを作ります。当然安価に作ることができます。
当工房で使用している煤竹は、自然素材であるが故に厚みや曲がり、歪みなど、それぞれに個性があります。そのため機械での成型はできません。竹を割って個性を見極め、どのように削るかを判断します。削りながら何度も箸を使う動作をしつつ、しっかりと手に馴染むよう、少しずつ削りを進めていきます。
Mass-produced chopsticks are made using machines to meet standard specifications. Naturally, this allows for inexpensive production.
The smoked bamboo used in our workshop, being a natural material, has unique characteristics in terms of thickness, curvature, and distortion. Therefore, it cannot be shaped by machine. We split the bamboo to assess its individuality and determine how to carve it. While carving, we repeatedly use the chopsticks, gradually shaping them to ensure they fit comfortably in the hand.
